FAAST stands for Florida Alliance for Assistive Services and Technology, a nonprofit organization that started twenty-eight years ago with the goal to improve the quality of life for Floridians with disabilities by increasing access to assistive technology. Assistive Technologies are any device, item, gadget, tool, hardware, or software used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of individuals of all ages who have disabilities and older adults who need assistance. These services will be accessible to families, educators, therapists, health and rehabilitation facilities, and employers throughout the following counties Citrus, Hernando, Sumter, Lake, and Pasco.
Hope Services will have a room dedicated to the FAAST Program, where individuals will have the ability to see the devices and interact with them, obtain all information, borrow them, and integrate them into their day-to-day life for a period to see if they are a good fit. We will also provide demonstrations and training.
