Life Skills and Vocational Training Center
In our Life Skills and Vocational Training Center, youth and adults are offered training and nationally recognized certifications in culinary arts/food safety, construction, customer service/retail, hospitality, computers/technology, and GED. Our center has a dedicated room for each vocation as well as a multi-media conference room for larger seminars and meetings. Our certified instructors tailor the courses to accommodate clients of all abilities while maintaining a high level of curriculum fidelity. With these skills and certifications, our clients are able to earn higher wages, find sustainable careers, and set a solid foundation for self-sufficiency, as many of the lessons they learn are transferrable to independent living.

Construction
A national certification in basic construction that can be used to obtain immediate employment or transferred to a vocational school to continue education.

Culinary Arts
Taught by a certified instructor, trainees will receive a ServSafe certification as well as hands on experience with a professional chef.
Computer Skills
Participants will gain a core understanding of computer literacy, Microsoft and IOS products, internet navigation, and responsible use of social media.
GED
Future graduates will be provided access to the state self-guided GED course. Assistance is available for support and tutoring.
RETAIL
Retail training includes hands-on experience with sales, stocking shelves, working a cash register, and achieving superior customer service skills. pexels
Hospitality
Attendees will acquire knowledge of the fundamentals of housekeeping, sanitation, and environmental services with a focus on safety and industry standards.

LIFE SKILLS & VOCATIONAL TRAINING CENTER
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION
The Hope Services Scholarship fund was established to assist those who are unable to pay for the courses offered at the Vocational Training Center. This fund is made possible through the support of our generous supporters, our sponsors and our fundraising efforts. This is a needs-based scholarship and is intended to be used to assist those in our community who have the desire to begin or improve their careers.
- All scholarships are determined by the need and availability of funds.
2) A scholarship application must be completed to be considered for a scholarship.
3) A scholarship of up to $500 is available for all classes except for the Construction Certification program, which will be a scholarship of up to $2,000.
4) Applicants can be awarded multiple scholarships, but each scholarship must be applied for separately. Applicants must successfully complete a course before applying for a subsequent scholarship.
5) Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the Life Skills & Vocational Training Center, not to the applicant.
6) If an applicant is awarded a scholarship and does not successfully complete the course, they will be ineligible for additional scholarships.
7) Applying for a scholarship does not guarantee the application will be approved.
8) All applications will be reviewed by Hope Services staff and approval will require the signature of senior leadership.
9) The scholarship is intended for clients who have no other funding sources nor have exhausted all other funding options. 10)Hope Services reserves the right to reject or decline applications.
